Job Description:
The Cook, under limited supervision, prepares and serves meals maintaining high standards of sanitation, housekeeping, and safety. Operates and inspects food service equipmentdaily.The cook is accountable to provide all aspects of patient meal service. This individual is responsible for the preparation of hot and cold menu items for patient and cafeteria meals, as well as for special functions. The cook is accountable to have a fundamental understanding of prescribed diet information and food allergy protocols. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, obtaining patient meal orders, assembling trays, communicating prescribed diets, maintaining patient Kardex system, other kitchen related tasks, open and close the cafeteria, serve customers, deliver meals to patients, and receive & put away vendor orders. The Food Service Worker must proficiently complete all required documentation and abide by all sanitation and food safety standards. It is always also vital to display exceptional client service. In the absence of a Supervisor or lead, the cook takes responsibility for the department. 32 hours per week-First Shift Every other weekend and holiday required High School Graduate or the equivalent required Works around areas and equipment of abnormal temperatures Requires extensive-standing Requires full range of body motion including but not limited to, standing, walking, sitting, hand and finger dexterity, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching with hands and arms, etc. Some heavy lifting
