The Team Lead will be responsible for multiple facets within the Indianapolis Logistics and Asset Management (LAM) organization. A variety of skills, including working in a union environment, will be required.
Responsible for the receipt, delivery, identification and inspection of incoming material. Responsible for processes associated with Stores and the warehousing of customer owned, program, and or company acquired material. Provides packaging engineering support, special container design, packaging estimates and format quotes. Oversees the retention of material and supplies for future use and in support of production and or engineering, as well as the accountability and accuracy of physical records. They provide transportation of material and correspondence within the IIS Indianapolis business environment. The Team Leader maintains functional records in support of internal and external audits to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures. Manages, develops or carries out delivery in accordance with local established business policies, procedures and public law. Ensures accuracy of delivery information, performs inventories, transportation, import/export requirements, and customer returns in conjunction with business area personnel.
GUIDANCE: The team leader will provide direction and training to team members using established policies and procedures. Work output of team members is reviewed for soundness of judgment, overall quality, and efficiency.
POLICY INVOLVEMENT: The team leader administers and implements policies and procedures that typically affect team members.
SUPERVISORY RELATIONS: The team leader accomplishes tasks mainly through direct supervision of predominately highly skilled non-exempt, hourly and entry level exempt employees. The team leader provides guidance and direction concerning process and continuous improvement projects. The team leader identifies and recommends training that allows for team member growth and personal development. The team leader meets the minimum requirements of executive exemption under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
OPERATIONS INVOLVEMENT: The team leader monitors daily operations of a unit and regularly assists or provides direction to team members as needed. The team leader may participate in staff meetings or other professional business meetings to ensure LAM processes and tasking is understood from an operational perspective.
IMPACT: The team leader ensures projects are completed on schedule following established procedures and schedules. Erroneous decisions, recommendations or failure to achieve service level commitments may result in delays to program or business schedules which result in the allocation of more resources and increased costs.
LIAISON: The majority of a team leaders liaison is with team members, cross functional personnel, supervisors, and managers. Liaison normally involves specific phases of a project or operation. External contacts generally involve routine matters.
Minimum 2 years of related work experience
Demonstrated ability to interface and communicate effectively both written & verbally with a wide variety of internal and external customers, peers and administration in order to deliver resolution in assigned areas
Prior experience in managing or leading in a union environment
Troubleshoot, perform a root cause analysis, and develop the corrective action within LAM Operations
Impact key performance metrics such as safety, Dock-to-Stock (DTS), inventory accuracy, and Pack-to-Ship
Demonstrate a high standard of ethics and integrity
Be reliable, dependable, and require minimal supervision
Demonstrate adaptability and openness to change
Plan and facilitate a meeting
Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Core knowledge of SAP/PRISM with the ability to perform research, implement transactions and track material

Inventory & material management experience is a plus
Broad knowledge of Import/Export requirements and hazardous material management
Demonstrated ability to get task accomplished through others
Ability to develop training materials and conduct training classes
Required Education (including Major):
A related Bachelors degree in business or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience (Bachelor degree = 8 years of additional applicable experience).
