Summary of Duties and Responsibilities In your role, you will lead the Payroll and Benefits Team, and be responsible for the Company's payroll function, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. You will also be responsible for the overall benefits administration, which includes day-to-day administration, as well as annual reviews of benefits, annual open enrollment, and employee communications. Leveraging your leadership skills, you will be responsible for leading your team members - this includes hiring, coaching, training, monitoring and assessing workload, prioritizing work, approving timecards, performance management, making pay decisions, discipline and other employment related decisions. Primary Duties and Responsibilities The Daily Grind - You will be responsible for all aspects of the payroll process, coordinating with employees and other departments to ensure changes, commissions, referrals, bonuses, guarantees, etc. are properly administered, as well as coordinating the general ledger entries for the Accounting area. You will be responsible for administering the company's benefit programs, and work with consultants to continue to provide the Company with a competitive benefit package, which includes the communication of benefits to the staff. As a leader, you will also set and monitor performance and operational standards, objectives, and the annual budget. In addition, you will manage all government related HR functions, such as FMLA, FLSA, Safe Act, and Affirmative Action. Remaining up-to-date and knowledgeable about HR Employment Laws is important as well as developing your team members. You're Part of a Team - You are a member of the overall Human Capital team. You will also partner with other leaders of the Human Capital team, other leaders, project sponsors, and subject-matter-experts to research, design, develop and administer new or update existing programs. And you have to be able to juggle - Multiple and conflicting priorities will come up under specific time constraints. In concert with your leader and team members, you have to be quick to act when issues arise. What it Takes
Bachelor's Degree in human resources, business management, or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of and experience with: payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes. Employee benefits and applicable laws.
Ability to: maintain confidentiality, communicate effectively (written and verbal), partner with others to solve problems, work with speed and accuracy, work independently and as a team member, maintain poise, tactfulness and overall respectful behaviors.
Skills in: organizing, assessing data, managing projects in various stages of completion, clarifying, explaining, listening, time management and coaching others.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel knowledge and daily use. Bonus Points
